Alicante Airport was initially named El Altet, but today is also referred to as Alicante–Elche Airport. Currently, Alicante Airport is the 5th largest Airport in all of Spain. It is also the fifth busiest Airport in regard to the number of passengers it serves. In all of Europe, it is considered one of the 50 busiest airports. Alicante Airport is the headquarters for the Air Nostrum, Jet2.com, Norwegian Air International, Ryanair, and Vueling.
It is the doorway to the Costa Blanca resort area and serves The Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community. It is located in the southern area; in the municipality of Elche. It is southwest from the city of Alicante, about 9 kilometers. Most of the flights at this Airport are international, as much as 80% of them. The passengers visiting are mostly from the UK, Netherlands’, Norway, and Germany. In the past decade, the number of passengers using this Airport has risen dramatically, making its annual average much higher than what it was in 2013. As of 2019, they reached a cumulative high of 15 million passengers.
Alicante airport provides three parking lots; these are easily accessible as they are located on the airport premises so that travelers don’t have to walk long distances. The parking areas contain a general car park, called P1, the First class car park, Express car park, and there is a long stay car park for those who need to park for a longer period.
You will be able to find the official car park right beside Terminal 1. To reach here, you need to cross the bridge to the arrivals gate. If you are picking someone up from Alicante airport and need to park for a few minutes, you are requested to look for the short-stay parking sign in the garage. Express parking provides travelers with flexible services. Their exclusivity allows you to drop passengers off at the terminal or nearby and you can pick up passengers from here as well, the first 15 minutes are free of cost, it gives passengers enough time to load and unload their luggage. It is located in the Departures area, right beside the terminal zone. It has a total of 80 parking spaces.

P1 can be used for short term parking at the Airport. It is located just a few meters from the terminal. It is suitable for a traveler looking to park near the airport terminal for a short period. It can also be used for pick-ups and drop-offs. It is recommended for a stay of fewer than four days. It has a total of 2,600 car park spaces with management and security staff present there.

It is located in close vicinity from the terminal, at a distance of just 3 minutes. It is a covered parking space with surveillance and proper security measures being taken. It is recommended to book beforehand as these spaces tend to sell out quickly, especially in the holiday season. Vehicles with heights over 2.10 m tall and campers are allowed here.

The first level parking lot can be found at the P1, general car park’s 4th floor. The parking lot has direct entry to and from the Airport as it is connected to the terminal. It is a covered parking space with a total of 390 parking spaces. The prices are charged on a per-minute basis, the fixed cost for a day is EUR 21.

There is valet parking available for passengers who prefer this option. The staff will take your car from in front of the terminal, park it at the car park, and on your return, drop it back off at the same place.
